Unknown, fascinating places, great people and probably the most delicious food I had ever eaten up to that point.
That’s how I can summarise my first trip to Mexico in 2010.
Well, I also remember the almost unbearable heat, but the new impressions in this country, which was so far away for me at the time, made up for everything.
My trip lasted a whole 6 months and I would have loved to have stayed much longer.

A language enthusiast and nature lover from Germany with a deep fascination for the indigenous languages of Latin America.
At the age of 24, I spent six months in Mexico, where I worked at a research institute for renewable energies and came into contact with indigenous languages for the first time. This experience opened up a whole new world to me.
Since then, my travels across Central and South America have deepened my curiosity and fascination for indigenous cultures and their languages.
Along the way, I have improved my Spanish, started learning Brazilian Portuguese and Catalan, and dabbled in many other languages.
I’ve been a dedicated Nahuatl learner for a few years now – and I absolutely love it!
This website is my way of sharing that journey with you. I hope to inspire others to discover and appreciate the beauty of these languages and cultures, and I’m always thrilled to connect with those who share the same interest.

My Mission
Nowadays, everybody is talking about endangered languages and cultures. At least since 2019, which has been declared the Year of Indigenous Languages by the UNESCO.
Many projects are being carried out to document and revitalize minority languages. I would like to contribute to preserving the richness and diversity that the different indigenous cultures and languages bring us.
On this website you will find a lot of information about the indigenous languages of Latin America. I will go into some of the languages in more detail and would also like to help you find materials for learning these languages.
It´ll be an interesting journey and I hope you´ll join me.
